Most Businessmen and Businesswomen Are Struggling to Find One Thing in Their Life at Work - Peace. I Can Provide a Roadmap to Peace at Work.
Dear Christian Business Person, Not all that long ago, I was in a similar position as hundreds of thousands of my Christian Brothers and Sisters. I was working for a medium sized company and frankly, having a tough time figuring out how to make sense of how to live out of my new-found Christianity. I thought that the result of living out of my Christianity at work would bring an internal peace. But honestly, it just wasn't happening for me. Sure, it was easy for me to put on a good face on Sunday morning as I sauntered into my local church. Or, as I was talking with Christian friends and acquaintances outside of my job. But WORK was a different matter. You see, it wasn't that I didn't want to "make a difference for Christ" in my job. After all, most of the people there were my friends and I genuinely wanted them to have the same thing that I had recently found. But, it was HARD. Really hard. And, I didn't know how to make it work at work. Most of us are in a work environment for about 2,000 or more hours per year. (Compare that with the 100 - 200 hours spent at "church".) And, if your environment is anything like mine was, it isn't the type of place or the type of people that make it easy to share your faith. So there I was, with a burning desire to be a good example, a good deal of "head knowledge" on what I should be doing, and a good deal of guilt that I wasn't doing it. I didn't come to a more complete understanding of how to live my life at work the way that I should until I started to study another guy at work. Now, most typical inspirational stories at this point usually introduce "Super Christian" who leads the new believer from darkness into light by being the perfect example. Well, I'm not like most people, because I found clarity in the life-at-work battles by studying a guy who was doing most things wrong. Plus, he was my Boss. And he was an absolute tyrant with an ego as large as a Greyhound bus and insecurities to match. I didn't study him in order to emulate him, or so that I could get ahead in my job. I studied him because I had to at first (he was my boss). Eventually I figured out that I was supposed to be studying him so that I would know the right thing to do. Which, in most cases, was exactly the opposite of what he was doing. In fact, I studied him so intently that I ended up writing a book about my experiences with him. In the book, I contrasted what he did and said with what the Bible tells us about leadership. I call the book Bleedership, Biblical First-Aid for Leaders and it has struck a chord with thousands of Christian business people in North America. Studying a Negative to Get to a Positive I don't recommend this method of studying a negative to get a positive to anybody. There are too many pitfalls in this approach and you can really get off track (or never get on track) by studying a negative influence. However, through this experience, God provided to me some serious insight into life at work. Don't get me wrong, I don't have it all figured out yet, but I continue to uncover Biblical principles that have really turned my life around. Many of the thousands that have purchased my book have discovered some of those same principles and how to apply them to their work life. Even with all the success of the book, I am still convinced that God is not done with me and this idea of Bleedership yet. He has convinced me clearly that while the book is helpful to many, it still is just a book. It is highly likely to be put on the shelf in pretty short order and over time many of principles that were so meaningful to the reader will be lost.
I told you that I have a roadmap for you. I must confess that the roadmap is not mine at all. The Word of God is the roadmap. But sometimes business people like you and me need some help with the roadmap. So, I've created two different "tracks" for people to follow. I'm confident that one of them will meet your needs.

What People Are Saying......... |

“Bleedership uses Biblical examples to demonstrate that God has a plan for us, even at work in the secular world, and that His plan can be accomplished best when we have a respectful regard for one another. It deftly shows the wisdom of being obedient to the Biblical commands: 'Love your neighbor as yourself' and 'Love your enemies'. This book might be the best of the bunch as far as the newest submissions to PK are concerned - I highly recommend it!" Dave Wardell “Jim Lange writes with the authority of an experienced leader and the warmth of a good friend. His insights into enduring qualities such as humility, compassion and integrity will help you star centered and poised toward true success. ” John D. Beckett "Our
family-owned business eventually became a subsidiary of a publicly owned
company, and I learned first hand the frustration of incompetent leadership. Jim has captured the essence of following in the footsteps of a famous
CEO named Jesus – a truly compelling read for executives and employees
alike!”

Forrest "Finding balance in my life has never been so difficult as when confronted in most of my waking hours by the fear, anger and sadness that permeates a spiritually bankrupt work environment. Jim provides insight and wisdom as to how to seek and find this balance, and to be sure that God's loving embrace is present even in the most difficult of times." Dan O'Grady “You can pick up Bleedership at any point and relate to the real-life story of how we can be better examples. Coming from large companies where individual greed and personal gain outweigh the true and fair treatment of employees and customers, America ’s corporate leaders could learn a great lesson from the examples in Jim’s book.” Robert Hedstrom |
“Having been in many leadership roles in my career, I've had the occasional wound here and there. Bleedership has been a cup of cold water in a desert experience and has really ministered to me. Jim Lange does an outstanding job letting leaders know they are not alone and gives much hope that very difficult situations can work to a redemptive end. If you want to lead in a biblical manner, this is the book for you!” David Bervig “Having taught leadership classes and reading almost every leadership book on the market, I have found this book to be the most effective. It is based on biblical principles, which, in my opinion, are the foundation of all leadership. I recommend this book to anyone in any leadership position or anyone who desires to become a leader.” Edward J. Reiter “Jim Lange is the real deal – a gifted leader, a successful businessman, and a solid Christian husband and father. This brief book packs a powerful punch as Jim shares important life lessons he personally learned the hard way. Read it and grow!” Glenn H. Teal “Bleedership has one quality that most leadership books lack: You can actually use it! Jim Lange has managed to pack this book with real life experiences from the corporate trenches, and fill it with nuggets of wisdom for those who wish to lead in truly fresh ways. Great book!” Bill Beausay "Thanks again for the wonderful book that I read Saturday and Sunday. It is a great book! Congratulations and God truly is using you to help leaders lead from a more Biblical perspective. In reading the book, it was a reminder to serve in leadership roles as Jesus did. I have always tried to do many of the things you mentioned, but it really focused in on key elements of leadership with more compassion, understanding, listening, inclusion, etc." Jim Shaffer "What a great book! Very thought provoking. Thanks for writing it!" Mark Giaco “Jim Lange's Bleedership blends Biblical principles and innovative leadership skills in a delightful book that shows us why our world desperately needs the positive Christian influence on leadership today."
